November creeps in
November is sneaking in this year in Halifax with deceptively warm days and mild nights. There are many leaves on the trees still and some of them still green. It is harder to imagine harsher and more uncomfortable weather on the way.
We have ramped up the family schedule this year and the children - and us - are all trying to get involved in new things. Jason has Steelers basketball, his first year of Cubs, Alta gymnastics, violin and Friends for Life on Saturdays. Keira has violin, piano, Sparks, church choir and skating. They have both been doing swimming on Saturday mornings, although this has been the least successful activity so far. they both swim well and so probably can't figure out why they should be taking lessons. We have our eye on swimming scholarship and lifeguarding jobs!
I have just finished extreme fitness and now am starting piano lessons, and Heather is starting back up at fitness.
I have been back at work 3.5 weeks. Sometime sit seems like forever. We are all just getting used to the new "routine" which never follows the plan so I don't know what to call it. Heather and I have met a couple of times for coffee and walks downtown which is a major advantage to working in Halifax together.
We had a great time on hallowe'en with a dinner (bat wings, witches fingers, frog guts, blood drink and spookghetti) and then out with Craig, Jessica, Sue and David and visits to Gillian and Zander.
