Not (quite) double the work

I really thought that I would get this blog updated on a regular basis! Ah, how the mighty have fallen. We don’t find having two children is double the work; it’s really not – our lives have been organized around having a small child and being parents for a while. But it definitely often rises from say an average of 1.6 to 1.8 or 1.9 on a fairly frequent basis, and thus, that is the end of blogging.

You should see us try and get out of the door for an average family Sunday morning. It takes a lot to get this family moving and out the door. For the two adults to shower, pack up supplies (food, bottle, spare clothes, whatever is required for the event that we are attending); wrestle two reluctant children into snowsuits, etc. etc….well a good 1.5 hours passes quite quickly!

We did have a great day last Saturday. Sadly, for Jason it started with a flu bug and some power puking followed by a comatose state. However, once he roused himself, we had a lot of fun. Heather went through 3 pairs of pajamas. Keira and I did a popsicle run. Jason was tired enough that he was cuddly and the “big brother angst” edge was rubbed off. He even watched his first feature film (“Cars”). He also did some of his favourite activity – breakdancing! He is really quite good. He also likes to talk about his favourite body part a lot – his “thumb toe”(big toe)!

Keira continues to delight us. We just took her to Heather’s work party. She was in a lovely party dress that would not have passed the Grandma test for softness but nonetheless looked great. She was totally charming and into being at a party. She practiced her waving, did a lot of bouncing and smiling and even tried watermelon.

Anyway this is actually procrastination from other pressing chores (some things never change)…Lisa
